Normality at It's finest

All I can say is UGH.

Huge word huh?

I know.  I know.

I don't know what to even say here.  I'm in a total block of any sort of words.  I'm not sure where to even start.  I've got so much going through my brain, that it won't even come out on paper.

Doing this writing contest for Mills & Boon New Voices 2011, has helped me more than I can really say.  I have met several other authors that have helped me emensely.  Maggie (@charitygirlblog), Katherine (@katherinelbone), Christine (@ccmackenzie1), Joanna (@joannashupe) and Alexx (@momcat_reviews).  Even when the voting and the comments get you down, this women bring you back up.  They are a beautiful support group and I honestly couldn't have asked for more.

I believe things happen for a reason.  The Fates push you in the general direction, and you just have to roll with it, no matter what hand you are dealt.  I believe that I was given a tiny push into this contest to meet these wonderful women and broaden my horizons and expand on my writing knowledge.  These ladies have helped more than I could ever explain, and I hope that one day, I can repay the favor.

So, here I come to my own form of blooper.  I'M STUCK!  Writers block is the boogyman needing a beatdown.  I got two notebooks to scribble out idea's, outlines, etc, as Christine advised.  I got one for future book(s) and one for current.  I have one book fully outlined, the biginning of another idea ... and yet, I am friggen blocked with my current.  I can't get past a point.  I know where I want to go with it, but just can't seem to get there.  Nothing pisses me off more than petering out just when it starts to get good.

If any of you have an idea to get my brain back into gear, please, part with this knowledge!

New Voices 2011

I did it.

I can't believe it.

I really did it.

I submitted an entry in Harlequin and Mills & Boon's New Voices 2011 contest.  I'm nervous and scared all in one.  I put Raven out there, my baby.

I've held Raven close since 1986, when I started her and Payton with V:tM.  Eventually, I moved Raven to the AOL chat rooms, the Medeival Tavern, to be specific.  The more I wrote with her, the more I grew to love her, the more she became a part of me.

Eventually, I created a world just for her:  The 13th Hour.

Now, I'm sharing her with the world.  Maybe one day, Payton will be next....

Long Time

It's been a few days, I know.  Just couldn't live without me, could ya?  Ha!  I knew it!

Anywho.... I've been working on the book and am actually excited about the direction it's headed in.  Raven cracks me up over the simplest stuff.  I finally got chapter 3 done and am diligently working on 4, though I've noticed my word count is a little lower than I'd like.  Especially with the writing contest I want to enter it in.

#NewVoices2011, from Harlequin and Mills & Boon.  I am pretty excited about it and nervous at the same time.  Doubts running through my mind about doing it.  What if's.

I hate having doubts.

Lucky Me!

I know no one reads this thing, but maybe one day someone will.  I do know, and I must brag about this, I am a lucky girl!  I have a new Critique Partner who is the author of Darkness Falls, but a good friend of mine, JoJo, also divulged to me that SHE has written a book and we're also reading eachothers books.  How much luckier can I get???

I've been working on a murder scene for three days now, and nothing is gel'ing.  I hate that.  Honestly?  I am usually right on point with writing demonic murder scene's, but for some reason, this one is NOT flowing.  At all.  I'm not sure why, since everything Raven is always running through my head.  Hell, I even watched Demon Hunter last night to try and get idea's, but the only idea it gave me was more to what the "bad guy" is going to be doing to the demons.  Go figure.
